The South Australian state capital of Adelaide is served by a network of electric and diesel-powered suburban railways radiating north, west and south from Adelaide railway station, as well as a small electric street tramway network and a unique (for Australia) O-Bahn guided busway.
Beyond the suburbs of Adelaide, passenger train services are provided by Journey Beyond who run the twice weekly Overland to and from Melbourne, departing Parklands Terminal in the inner suburb of Keswick and serving intermediate towns along the way, and also the once-weekly Sydney-Perth luxury Indian Pacific train, and the once or twice weekly Ghan to and from Darwin.
A handful of excellent tourist trailways and tramways can be found in South Australia, notably the Pichi Richi Railway in the mid-north and SteamRanger based in Goolwa to the south of Adelaide
