Adelaide rail map 1974
This is a map of the Adelaide suburban rail network in 1974 when services were provided by the South Australian Railways (SAR).
The map shows freight lines as well as passenger lines, and does show passenger services to Hendon, Semaphore, Rosewater and Woodville to North Arm Road in their twilight years. It also shows the line to Noarlunga Centre as Under Construction - suburban trains ran only as far as Hallett Cove Beach in 1974.
The now closed station at South Brighton is shown as is the line from Salisbury to Direk along which a limited suburban service to Virginia was provided for a short time.
