How to Travel with Journey Beyond Rail
All travel on GSR trains must be booked in advance. Seats and sleeping berths are reserved and you cannot board without a reservation. The Indian Pacific, The Ghan and The Great Southern are luxury trains that are marketed as Land Cruises for people wanting an experience of a lifetime. They generally do not operate as public transport and do not pick up or drop off along the way.
The Overland train is a more traditional train that, whilst luxurious, is a more traditional train for travellers between Melbourne and Adelaide and intermediate stations along the way.

Australian Rail Maps is an independent small business running on the smell of an oily rag. If you would like to help, even the smallest contribution to running costs can make a big difference. Helping to pay for web hosting, data communications and software costs means it is easier to focus on keeping maps and databases up to date.
Every little bit helps, and yes, that really means as little as just one dollar (AU$1).
