Gold Coast Line

Travel by fast, comfortable and frequent electric train from Brisbane to Robina on the Gold Coast. There are convenient bus connections from Nerang and Robina stations to Surfers Paradise.
Schedule: Trains operate every day from Brisbane's Roma Street and Central Stations, with up to two trains per hour travelling to Robina.

The Westlander

Discover the pioneering spirit of Queensland’s Outback with a journey aboard The Westlander. This scenic journey from Brisbane travels through the rich farmlands of the Darling Downs, some of Queensland’s most established wine producing regions and across the Great Dividing Range before arriving in Charleville, the largest town in south-west Queensland and gateway to the outback. Passengers are accommodated in seats or sleeping compartments, which feature wash basins and wardrobes, and access to shower facilities. Meals can be purchased onboard.
Schedule: The Westlander departs twice weekly from Brisbane and Charleville.

The Brisbane XPT and the North Coast Line

Countrylink runs three daily XPT services to the north coast of New South Wales connecting Sydney with Grafton (884km), Casino (783km) and Brisbane (1053km). Buses also connect from selected services at Broadmeadow for the Great Lakes, Wauchope for Port macquarie and Casino for Lisomore, Byron Bay, Tweed Coast, the Gold Coast and Brisbane. For your comfort, sleepers are available on the overnight Sydney to Brisbane and Casino to Sydney services.
Schedule:Three trains depart Sydney daily. The Casino XPT leaves Sydney in the morning, gets to Casino in the late afternoon, then returns to Sydney overnight. The Grafton XPT travels during daylight each way between Sydney and Grafton and the Brisbane XPT departs Sydney in the evening, travels overnight to Brisbane, then returns in daylight from Brisbane to Sydney.

The Northern Tablelands Xplorer

One of Countrylink's most popular train services is the morning XPLORER train to Moree and Armidale that travels around 600km from Sydney and divides at Werris Creek. Travel through the wine country of the Hunter Valley and the 'Big Sky' country further north. Buses connect at Tamworth for Inverell, at Armidale for Tenterfield and at Narrabri for Wee Waa and Burren Junction. Countrylink buses also connect from Moree and Glen Innes to Grafton on the NSW North Coast.
Schedule: The Northern Tablelands Xplorer departs daily from Sydney Central for Armidale and Moree. The train divides at Werris Creek. Southbound trains depart Armidale and Moree daily, and the sections join at Werris Creek for the journey to Sydney.

The Dubbo XPT

Daily the XPT takes you through the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains on a 445km journey to Dubbo. Buses connect at Dubbo for Lightning Ridge, Broken Hill and Bourke. Bus connections for Oberon depart from Mount Victoria while connections for Parkes, Cowra and Mudgee depart from Lithgow.
Schedule: XPT trains depart Daily early each morning from Sydney's Central station for Dubbo. The return journey from Dubbo to Sydney is made each afternoon.

Tourist Railways

Glenreagh Mountain Railway

Ride a train haueld by restored steam locomotive "Betty", or even ride a Melbourne tram along part of the former Glenreagh to Dorrigo branch line in the scenic hills of the North Coast of NSW.
Schedule: Trains or trams depart Glenreagh on Saturdays and Sundays one weekend each month.
